If you’re looking for a delightful and unique experience in the Valley of the Sun, let me introduce you to The English Rose Tea Room. A little slice of England in Northern Phoenix.
Established in 2002, the romantic and cheery atmosphere rivals the Ritz Hotel. Guests enjoy traditional tea time fare, and have a large list of loose leaf teas to choose from. You can expect the full English experience here.
My mom was thrilled when she saw The English Rose Tea Room on the news so she called to make us a reservation.
Located in the town’s center of scenic Carefree, AZ, you can play dress up and have a tea party with your friends and family. The English use tea time to slow down and relax, reflect, and enjoy some company. Something that I think we should do more of!
The owner Jo is from England. She greeted us with a smile and showed us to our table in a cozy and eclectic space, there were other ladies (even a gent) having a chat, colorful hats sprinkled throughout the room.
The tables were adorned with all the supplies necessary for a real life tea party.
They have a wonderful menu. We went for the Duchess of Bedford’s Formal Afternoon Tea experience, which includes 3 tiers of delectable treats. The top tier has Petit Fours, a selection of mini cakes and pastries. The middle tier had amazing scones and strawberry preserves and Devon Cream (which they import from England), and the lower tier had an assortment of yummy tea sandwiches.
Everything was DIVINE. The English Rose Tea Room offers a fairly extensive collection of Teas certain to delight anyone’s pallet. For our pot of tea, we tried the Rose Petal Tea and it was simply delightful. We also ordered a few of their salads which were very generous portions.
Worth noting- they also have the “Nursery Tea” experience which is for your little tea time buddy. Pastries, fruit, tea sandwiches, and their choice of decaf tea, lemonade, or hot chocolate. How cute is that? Can’t wait to take Clara there when she’s a little older and less Tasmanian-Devil like. Ha!
It was nice to slow down and enjoy the company. This place would be great for a baby shower or a birthday party!
My parents will be moving up North a bit so I think it’s safe to say that we will be finding ourselves again at The English Rose Tea Room.
Let me know if you end up going to check it out!
Sending you sunshine….cheerio!
