its-always-sunny-in-phx-local-treats

Calling all cupids! I’m back this week with some sweet and LOCAL ways to show your friends and family that you love them this Valentine’s Day. Or whenever. Because like I publicly stated in my last post, I don’t believe we need a hallmark holiday to force us into acts of love. However, any occasion to gift local treats…. I’m into it.

The weather is warming up here in Phoenix, casting some sunshine on our hearts and souls, and making us feel like humans again. Now, only to do something about these white pasty legs of mine.

TMI, anyway….

Like all of my articles, this list is not all encompassing, but it’s a jumping off point. I love how all of my favorite businesses are getting in the Valentine’s spirit. Like I mentioned in my previous article about Phoenix’s Most Romantic Patios, I really enjoy this time of year.

I hope this list introduces you to some new items or local businesses in Phoenix. We really do have a kick ass community of makers and creatives. From donuts to macarons, florists, unique locally made cards and even a perfume made locally, I’m going to make you the Valentine’s Day hero by giving you insider info on the best Valentine’s Day gifts here in the valley.

Drumroll please….

A Bakeshop:

A Bakeshop always has fun treats, but they’ve got some pretty sweet stuff going on for this year’s day of love. They have treats like macaron cakes that come in vanilla, raspberry, strawberry, chocolate ganache, and berry custard. 3″ in diameter, and conversation heart macarons.

Conversation Heart Macarons! Pre-order is highly recommended. Tag your peeps!

Or load them up with a smorgasbord of treats.

Arcadia Farms Cafe:

Arcadia Farms Marketplace is right next door to the actual restaurant in Old Town Scottsdale. It is one of my favorite go-to spots to treat friends and coworkers for tasty little treats. Check out this not-so-little tasty treat below! They’ve also got some handmade bath products in case your valentine is watching their figure this year.

Ivory Tub:

Another treat to spoil someone with sans carbs and calories, are these adorable heart shaped gift boxes from Ivory Tub, a local bath bomb maker.

Ruze Cake House:

Again- another favorite and go to for me is Ruze Cake House. Could those llama cookies be any cuter? J. Christ, Ruze Cake House, I don’t think you guys can be any more perfect.

Super Chunk Sweets & New Wave Market:

Pick up some yummy sweets and some unique and hilarious cards from Super Chunk Sweets and it’s adjoined market, New Wave Market.

Urban Cookies:

A cookie shop that references Parks & Rec in really alright in my book. I also appreciate their sweets happy hour!

By the way, Urban Cookies now offers a happy hour a few days a week!

Gifting Service: Birdytell

Birdytell is an awesome gifting service that delivers locally curated gift boxes in the Phoenix area. I was lucky enough to receive a box which I talked about here. If you happen to be downtown this weekend at the Willo Historic Home Tour, they’ll have a booth set up where you can mix + match a valentine’s gift for a lucky recipient. How fun is that?

Tammie Coe Cakes:

Darn you Tammie Coe and your delicious sugar cookies that my husband keeps bringing home!!! Gets us at AJ’s all the time… I don’t know how on earth we’ve passed you at the Scottsdale Farmer’s Market. The cookies and pies are delicious, this I know, but Tammie Coe has a lot of yummy treats and you should get to know them if you’re local to Phoenix.
