phoenix holiday markets

Chances are you still have a few people on your holiday shopping list you need to check off. I can guarantee you the most fun and satisfying way to do that is by shopping at a local holiday market.

It is officially crunch time! With only a week and a half until the Big Man stops by, small businesses are making sure they’re accessible to their community by teaming up with each other for pop up style markets.

There’s a few noteworthy events going on in the days leading up to Christmas, and I’m here to share those with you. The good news is, you’re bound to find something unique for that special someone at any of these great events.

Thursday, December 14th

Central Phoenix | Phoestivus at Phoenix Public Market | 5 – 10 pm

Complete with aluminum pole, feats of strength, and yes, even an official airing of grievances, Phoestivus is an amazing display of the best in local vendors, 130 of them actually. It’s a huge event and I would say if you can only make it to one of these markets it would be between this one and another market that I’ll mention below. Phoestivus occurs twice, the 14th & 21st, so you have a chance next week to make it too!

Friday, December 15th

Old Town Scottsdale | Holiday Gift Pop-up Shop Extravaganza! | 2 – 7 pm

Hosted by Uprooted Bloom Room at their shop in Old Town at 4205 N. Winfield Scott Plaza. Shoppers can sip on complimentary cocktails or champagne while they browse their great vendors. They are also offering really unique fresh wreaths and garland.

Gilbert | The Holiday Market at Barnone | 5 – 9 pm

60+ vendors will be on site, there’s sure to be a gift for everyone on your list! I personally haven’t checked out Barnone yet but it’s a really cool concept. I’m hoping to make it soon! Check it out here.

Saturday, December 16th

Central Phoenix | Hello Handmade Market at Heritage Square | Dec 16th & 17th | 10 am – 4 pm

This market is free & fun for the whole family! They’ll have live music, and a kids jump zone. You can shop 60+ vendors and local makers.

Biltmore Area | Fitch Hill & Local Trade Holiday Marketplace | 10 am – 3 pm

This one is an interesting concept- an open house by Fitch Hill in conjunction with Local Trade AZ. Shop for gifts, grub on local eats, and get your picture with Santa for a donation. They are having a toy drive, admission is free.

I also happen to know that Sonora Handmade will be doing a weaving workshop here too! Spots are limited, 10:30-11:30 both days. To enroll dm @sonorahandmade on IG. If you’re curious about what a workshop is like, check out my post on my experience at one of her workshops a few months ago. So much fun!!

Mesa | Boutique in the Garden at the Wright House | 10 am – 1 pm

Another location I’ve been wanting to check out! It’s free to attend this boutique in the Garden of the Wright House (which looks so lovely in photos). Attendees will enjoy food trucks, photos with Santa, giveaways, and shopping local vendors. A list of vendors is located on the description of the Facebook invite linked above.

Sunday, December 17th

Uptown | Holiday Artisan Market at The Newton | 12 pm – 4 pm

Arizona vendors will be set up inside and outside of The Newton with unique and handmade goods. This year there will be an exclusive wine vendor on site for a tasting. The Newton Artisan Market is free to attend.

Tempe | Holiday Market on 6th Street | 1 1 am – 4 pm.

This weekly Sunday market will have a holiday spin with activities like make and take ornaments and Selfies with Santa.

The 6th Street Market is a weekly event highlighting the uniquely fantastic selection of Arizona-made goods in Downtown Tempe. These local makers + musicians showcase the incredible array of talent present in our city and the growing entrepreneurial spirit of artists and makers in the Phoenix area. We jury upwards of 100 vendors to participate in the market, featuring 30-40 makers and local musicians at each weekly market.”

Wednesday, December 20th

Central Phoenix | Phoenix Flea Holiday Pop Up at Desoto Central Market | 6-10 pm

Bring a canned food item, diapers/pull-ups, or toy to donate to Child Crisis AZ. This is going to be a really good local holiday market! This is the other market that I mentioned earlier being one I would recommend going to if you HAD to choose. Some of my personal favorite brands like Vida Moulin, Standard Wax, Madalyn Nault Accessories, Paige Poppe, Ivory Tub, Citizen Home Decor, and various vintage sellers will be there.

Worth mentioning….

Sweat Flea at Sweet Salvage Vintage | Dec 14th-17th | 10 am – 6 pm

This isn’t a holiday market per se, but this is always a fun shopping experience. Every 3rd weekend of the month, a coalition of vintage sellers get together and showcase their shops in a creative way, each month dedicated to a different theme.

There are so many local holiday markets and shops selling unique items this holiday season. I had to force myself away from the rabbit hole of Facebook events and scale down to the ones that I would personally be interested in attending. I hope you’re able to check some of them out and find the perfect gifts from Phoenix based brands.

I’d love to see your loot! Send me a message on IG to @itsalwayssunnyinphx if you score anything awesome!

Happy Shopping!
